Renovation: Lynn Item Building

We proudly present The Lynn Item Building, currently under construction. BuildAR Group, Inc. is restoring the exterior to its 1900 glory. The 5 story 120-year-old building will offer 31 residential apartments upstairs with 7 commercial spaces on the first floor, for a total of 38 units. The mix of units will include one-bedrooms and studios geared towards the millennial and those interested in living near the Lynn downtown.

Multi-Unit Project

Multi-Unit Project

BUILDAR GROUP was selected to be general contractor for three (3) unit townhouses in Dorchester, MA.

Commercial Addition

BUILDAR GROUP was selected to be general contractor for the two floor with full basement, 4 unit commercial, addition to an existing single-story commercial building. BUILDAR GROUP provided project consultation, coordinated with building officials and the design team for the four commercial store unit located in Lynn.

BUILDAR GROUP was selected to be the general contractor for a 27 unit ground-up development downtown.

Local 537 Training Center

Client – Local 537
A joint venture between Janey and John Moriarty to develop Pipefitter Associates’ new development. Construction scope included demolition of existing building to make way for a new 70,000 gsf new construction. The building’s ground floor will be enhanced with lighting, new landscaping. 10,700 square feet of open outdoor space will be located on site; the building’s new auditorium will be available for community meetings and events.

Lab Renovation

Client: Genzyme/Sanofi
Renovation of Pharmaceutical Laboratory included installation a cooling system for a new Autoclave, parts washer, new casework, new security, HVAC, and electrical systems. Additional work involved upgrading safety showers, eyewash stations, and miscellaneous architectural improvements. Hourmat worked closely with Genzyme building occupants and facilities to ensure that the construction did not impact lab operations, ensuring safety at all times.

MIT Grandstand Project

Client: MIT
Construction scope included demolishing the existing bleachers, excavating, removing soil, installing new helical piles, foundations, bleachers, press box, and MEP systems, and making numerous other site improvements.

Cost – $3.5mil

Role- Assist. Superintendent 

Roof Replacement

Client – Genzyme/Sanofi
Renovation work included removing old roofing membrane and insulation; installing new roofing systems, aluminum standing seam panels, flashings, stairs, windows, and sealant; and limiting the plumbing scope to accommodate the new system..

Cost – $2.8mil
